Water soluble products also known as water sensitive products
disappear when water is applied.They are to be used on towels,on
loop pile or knitted fabrics.When placed on top of the material
it prevents slippage and makes sure your stitches are formed

Please note: This Vilene is the new improved product and is
thicker than other brands on the market and does not have
the bad smell some other brand have. For lace applications
I recommend that you use Soluable Vilene one layer instead
of numerous layers of Industrial Solvy.
It is different from heataway. The most important part
that no-one tells you is when you iron it at the end
you MUST put brown paper on the top. This makes sure
you get no reside on your work. It is ideal for sheer
fabrics as it melts away easily. When doing small things
like petals or leaves it is great to use as a stabilizer
as it grips the surface giving you more control
WHAT
IS MELTAWAY?
Meltaway
is a plastic tearaway. Is a perfect backing or topping
for delicate fabrics like silk, tulle, sateen, velvet,
organza, light cottons, towelling and is an alternative
to multi-layers of solvy. Its rough surface grips the
material, preventing slippage. The tiny perforated holes
in the plastic also allow it to be easily torn away
from the outside edge of the embroidery. It is a transparent
film, it does not show through the fraic, it is only
0.07 thich, which allows the fabric to fall naturally
without that heavy appearance. When using Meltaway as
a backing you don't always need to iron the residue,
simply tearaway as you would with a tearaway backing.
For using a iron to get small parts out, heat the iron
to 110-115c. Place the work Meltaway side up on the
ironing board and cover with brown paper (lunch bnag
works well). Apply the iron to the paper and the Meltaway
should come away from the fabric onto the paper, when
ironed the stabilizer totally disappears. The plastic
will remain permanently under the embroidery, which
stops the stitching from sinking into the embroidered
item even after many washes.
